Police arrest ring leader of motorcycle theft gang

Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a key suspect involved in an organized motorcycle theft.
The operation was carried out on the instructions of SP Cantt Division Aitzaz Arif and under the supervision of DSP Cantt Circle Dost Muhammad Khan.
According to police, SHO West (Gharbi)Police Station Noor Muhammad Khan apprehended the main accused, identified as Kifayatullah, son of Malang Jan, a resident of neighboring Afghanistan.
During the operation, police recovered a stolen motorcycle and Rs 45,000, the amount allegedly obtained from its sale.
The suspect was reportedly a member of a well-organized gang involved in stealing motorcycles from various areas, including Cantt, and selling them at inflated prices.
The arrest was made following an investigation conducted on modern scientific lines. Additional members of the gang have also been identified, and efforts are underway to apprehend them.
The case was initiated following a complaint lodged by Muhammad Hamza, who reported the theft of his motorcycle at West Police Station.
A formal case was registered, and SP Aitzaz Arif took serious notice of the rising motorcycle theft incidents, directing the formation of a special investigation team.
The arrested accused has reportedly confessed to the crime during the initial interrogation.
