PM directs to provide level playing field to local industry

ISLAMABAD
Prime Minister (PM) Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif while directing to provide level playing field to local industries has said growth in national income due to exports is among the top priorities of government.
Interim recommendations be presented soon and proposals of industrial and traders organizations be included in the preparations of budget, he said this while chairing a review meeting in Islamabad on Thursday, regarding the Export Facilitation Scheme.
Interim recommendations of committee constituted for making Export Facilitation centre effective and ensuring export sector benefits from it were presented in the meeting.
The meeting was briefed that the Scheme was launched to reduce production costs and enable the country’s products compete in the global markets.
The PM said increasing the country’s exports is one of the top most priorities of the government.
He directed the relevant authorities to further consult with experts to make the Export Facilitation Scheme more effective for facilitating the import of raw materials and machinery for export industries.
He said consultations be made with industries and business organizations and their suggestions be included in the budget.
It was told during the meeting that this scheme was launched to reduce cost of production and for competition of country’s exports in international markets.
Meeting was attended by federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Ahad Khan Cheema, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Ali Pervez Malik , Sardar Awais Khan Leghari, Syed Tauqir Shah and others.
