Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the profit recorded by PIA. PIA has achieved an operating profit of 9.3 billion rupees and net profit of 26.2 billion rupees after more than two decades. In a post on his X handle, he described it as a major turnaround after decades of losses. He commended Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif and his team in the aviation. Asif said that through the government’s rigorous steps and comprehensive reforms entailing cost and workforce rationalization, routes optimization and financial discipline.
