Peshawar University wins PCB All Pakistan Inter-University Cricket Championship

With the cooperation of Pakistan Cricket Board and Higher Education Commission, Peshawar University won the All Pakistan Inter-University Cricket Championship held here. In the final, they defeated Punjab University by 22 runs after a thrilling match. 18 universities from all over Pakistan participated in this championship.
University of Central Punjab get third position by deafeated islamia universiy. Director Sports Peshawar University Bahre Karam distributed prizes among the players. The final of the championship was played at the Medical College Ground, in which Peshawar University batted first and scored 266 runs for the loss of six wickets in 34 overs.
Opening batsman Muhammad Mohsin Khan played a charming innings of 73 runs,In which he faced 54 balls, and hit 15 fours. Apart from mohsin , Jamshed Khan also scored a half-century, he hit two fours and five sixes.
Maaz Habib scored 41, Muhammad Zubair scored 29 and Adnan Khan scored 20 runs. Munir Ahmed and Ali Hamza dismissed two players each for Punjab University.
In reply, the Punjab University team was all out for 244 runs in the 33rd over after a thrilling contest.
Zahid 42, Hamza 36, Ramiz 38 and Wasim Akram were the prominent scorer with 46 runs.
Maaz was the best bowler who dismissed three batters for Peshawar University,while
Abdul Wahab, Farhad Khan, Muhammad Ramiz captured two wickets each from Peshawar University.
At the end chief guest thanked Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, Higher Education Commission Chairman Mukhtiar Ahmed, and Higher Education Commission DG Sports Javed Memon, whose efforts,the Inter-University Cricket Championship was organized in collaboration with PCB and HEC. He said that after the successful completion of 14 zonal competitions in Pakistani universities, 18 best teams from universities that showed excellent performance participated in this championship.
HEC and PCB are working under an agreement to improve cricket at the grassroots level in the country, which aims to identify cricket talent in universities and work together to improve this talent, which will ultimately strengthen Pakistan’s cricket ecosystem.
Earlier, in the Memorandum of Understanding between HEC and PCB, it was agreed that equal emphasis would be placed on promoting cricket talent in both men and women.
