Owais, Umme Halima, Abdullah and Taj Meena win Peshawar Table Tennis titles

Peshawar Table Tennis Cup Competitions concluded in a grand Ceremony. Owais Jamshed, Ummi Halima, Abdullah Jan and Taj Meena won the titles in different categories.
Chief Guest Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Captain (R) Sarmad Saleem Akram distributed prizes among the winning players. He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance Asghar Soorani, Regional Sports Officer Peshawar, Kashif Farkhan, Vice President Pakistan Table Tennis Federation Kifayatullah, Table Tennis Coaches Absar Ali, Iqrar-ur-Rehman, Amna Mahmood, principal FG School Peshawar Ms. Noreen, Rabia Minhas Sports Head, Principal Government High School Cantt No. 1 Ijaz Ahmed.
Table Tennis Cup was played in collaboration with district administration, at Peshawar Sports Complex under the supervision of the Regional Sports Office Peshawar and the District Table Tennis Association, in which more than two hundred male and female players participated in four different categories.
Owais Jamshed defeated Mudassar Khan by 11-8, 11-9, 6-11 and 11-7 to win boys’ singles title. In girls’ singles, Ummi Halima defeated Khuria Khameem by 11-9, 11-5, 11-8 and 12-10. Similarly, in two different categories of special individuals, Abdullah Jan defeated Aamir by 3-1, while in the women’s category, Taj Meena defeated Mahwah Gulshad by 3-0 to clinch the title.
Addressing the players Deputy Commissioner Peshawar said that sports play a fundamental role in the development and progress of any nation. He said that it is very important to promote sports to make the young generation healthy and active.
He said that the district administration will take more steps to promote sports so that youth can get more opportunities to showcase their talents. Deputy Commissioner Peshawar appreciated the services of Regional Sports Officer Kashif Farhan in the promotion of sports and paid tribute to him.
