Minister Afridi orders establishment of two new community schools

Provincial minister for higher education and local government Meena Khan Afridi has directed the establishment of two new community schools in his constituency PK 83 to meet the growing educational needs of the area.
These directives were issued in a meeting held to discuss the progress of primary and secondary education in Constituency 83, a handout said.
Chief Planning Officer for Primary and Secondary Education Zain Gilani briefed the minister on the ongoing efforts to enhance educational facilities.
During the meeting, Afridi emphasized the need for immediate action to address several key challenges.
The Minister directed that two new community schools be established in PK-83, as per the region’s educational requirements. In addition, he instructed the demolition and rebuilding of dilapidated classrooms in both primary and higher secondary schools.
Afridi also prioritized the immediate construction of the Government Primary School building on Dabgari Road in Peshawar, calling for the project to commence without delay.
He announced that all schools in PK-83 would receive Parent Teacher Council (PTC) funds, ensuring better management and resources for educational development.
Addressing the issue of staff shortages, Afridi directed that vacancies in local schools be filled within the next ten days.
Provincial minister Afridi also highlighted that over forty schools in the constituency had already received new furniture, improving the learning environment for students.
Regarding infrastructure upgrades, Afridi confirmed that the solarization repairs at schools would be completed by the end of January. For schools without solar systems, he set a target of three months to ensure the installations are finished.
Afridi further emphasized that development work across various sectors in PK-83 is progressing steadily, stating, “I am committed to bringing real change in my constituency and across the province, particularly in education, to ensure a better future for our youth.”
