JUI-F head Maulana Fazlur Rehman has strongly condemned the alleged violence against sisters of PTI founder and PTI leaders and workers outside Adiala jail.
He said in a statement issued here Wednesday state violence against peaceful and constitutional protest is sorrowful and regrettable.
He made it clear that it is constitutional right of family members of prisoner to meet him in jail and creating hindrances on the way runs contrary to basic principles of justice.
Terming the torture against the parliamentarians and opposition leaders a symbol of dictatorship he said such tactics are tantamount to mock democratic norms.
Expressing grave concern over torture on women workers he said respect of women is part of eastern and Islamic civilization and traditions.
He cautioned overall political situation in the country is heading towards chaos and clash fast. The prevailing economic and social situation in the country cannot afford tension of such nature.
He stressed on all parties to exercise restraint and promote political dialogue.
