LONGi achieves milestone with 165KW solar rooftop project

LONGi has reached a significant milestone in Pakistan’s solar energy market by successfully completing a 165KW commercial rooftop solar project in Peshawar. This project, installed on the rooftop of the Shama CNG station, was finalized recently and utilizes 284 pieces of 580-watt LONGi Hi-MO X6 photovoltaic modules, offering a total installed capacity of 165KW. With this successful implementation, Peshawar is now benefiting from a cleaner, more sustainable energy solution.
The project generates approximately 700 to 750 units of electricity per day during the summer months. This substantial energy output significantly enhances the Shama CNG station’s energy self-sufficiency while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by around 20 tons per month, contributing positively to local environmental conservation. Based on this generation rate and the cost of electricity in the region, the payback period for solar installation is estimated to be around 4 to 5 years.
Daud Shah, Director of Shama CNG filling station, emphasized, “the escalating costs of electricity and frequent power cuts, which posed significant challenges to the station’s operations. Concerned about future expenses and the impact of unreliable electricity on business continuity, Shah decided to transition to renewable energy solutions.” After extensive research, he identified LONGi’s Hi-MO X6 panels as the optimal choice due to their efficiency and reliability.
Notably, the simulated power generation for the LONGi Hi-MO X6 modules predicted a daily output of around 650 units. However, the actual performance has surpassed expectations, consistently generating 700 to 750 units per day. This reliability and superior performance highlight the efficiency and robustness of LONGi’s Hi-MO X6 modules in real-world applications, demonstrating the tremendous potential of photovoltaic technology in practical use.
Encouraged by these promising results, Daud Shah intends to further enhance the station’s energy self-sufficiency by expanding the project to 200KW and channeling surplus energy back into the grid.
LONGi’s successful entry into Pakistan further solidifies its leading position in the global solar market and provides significant support for the country’s green energy development. Moving forward, LONGi remains committed to innovation and growth, striving to deliver more efficient and environmentally friendly solar solutions worldwide.
