KP govt focused on retaining power, ignoring critical issues: Aimal Khan

Awami National Party (ANP) central president Aimal Wali Khan has urged the government to rethink its Afghan policy and warning against involvement in new conflicts that could lead to further devastation.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held in connection with death anniversaries of Bacha Khan and Abdul Wali Khan at Bacha Khan Markaz on Monday.
Amil Wali Khan criticized the provincial government’s focus on retaining power while ignoring critical issues such as reports of missile launching pads and the month-long disconnection of Kurram district.
He highlighted the government’s failure to address the Kurramcrisis, where logistical obstacles hindered efforts to dispatch a Jirga, underscoring the ANP’s commitment to peace and its history of negotiating under dire circumstances.
He reaffirmed the ANP’s dedication to the ideologies of Bacha Khan and Wali Khan, emphasizing the party’s unwavering stance on rights and justice.
Amil Wali Khani highlighted the region’s rich mineral resources, including water, gas, oil, uranium, and lithium, Amil Wali Khan condemned the government’s failure to grant local rights.
He criticized the branding of rights advocates as foreign agents or traitors and reiterated the ANP’s commitment to a non-violent struggle for the nation’s rights and resources.
Provincial President Mian Iftikhar Hussain and other ANP officials also addressed the gathering, reinforcing the party’s message of resilience and dedication to its cause.
