KP government spokesperson Barrister Dr Saif has said the process of return of Afghan refugees to Afghanistan should be suspended forthwith on humanitarian grounds and as a gesture of good will.
As per media reports, KP government spokesman Barrister Dr Saif said in his statement Afghanistan is facing the damages caused by the disastrous earthquake. It is not possible to bear the burden of return of refugees by a poverty stricken country.
A large number among the earth quake victims and injured are the Afghan refugees who have returned to Afghanistan from Pakistan. In such circumstances we should help Afghanistan rather than drifting it into more hardships.
It is not morally correct to place the burden of return of Afghan refugees on a poverty stricken country.
Afghanistan is in dire need of assistance and cooperation at present . Extending help is prime responsibility of Pakistan being a neighboring Muslim country. KP government is extending help to earth quake affected Afghan refugees beyond its resources.
During his meeting with Afghan ambassador KP Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur has extended offer to provide free medical facilities and every possible cooperation to earth quake affectees.
35 trucks of relief goods have also been handed over to Afghan authorities under the directives of CM KP.
