KP Excise dept launches recovery drive against tax defaulters

The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has intensified its special operations against property tax defaulters in Peshawar, while simultaneously taking measures to facilitate the industrial community and address taxation-related issues on a priority basis.
According to official details, targeted recovery operations against major property tax defaulters were conducted under the supervision of Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO-VI) Peshawar Aijaz Anwar. During the operations, several tax-defaulting units in the city were sealed, while final notices were issued to banks and other defaulters for the recovery of outstanding dues.
In a parallel campaign, another team led by Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO-II) Peshawar Tauseef Khan, along with Assistant Excise and Taxation Officers Nasir Mehmood Khan and Zar Ali Khan, carried out further action against major defaulters. Multiple non-compliant units were sealed after failure to clear dues despite repeated notices.
The department advised property owners to ensure timely payment of taxes to avoid legal action and inconvenience.
Separately, under the supervision of ETO-III Peshawar Zahid Iqbal Khan, a meeting was held between excise officials and representatives of the industrial community to resolve taxation-related concerns.
The meeting was attended by Industrial Association President Ayub Zakori, Senior Vice President Haris Mufti and other stakeholders, who presented their issues before the department.
Officials said around 15 cases were resolved on the spot, which was appreciated by the industrial community, while participants expressed satisfaction over the department’s prompt response.
The Excise Department also issued PT-10 challans to facilitate industrialists in completing relevant legal and taxation formalities.
Officials reaffirmed that matters between the department and the business community would continue to be resolved through consultation, cooperation and timely facilitation.
