KP CM’s aide slams Punjab govt over denied meeting with Imran Khan
Special Assistant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Shafi Jan, has criticized the Punjab government for denying a meeting between PTI founder Imran Khan and his family, calling it a violation of court orders and authoritarian governance.
Jan stated that the Islamabad High Court had designated Tuesday for the meeting, but the Punjab government refused to allow it. He condemned the government’s actions, saying it reflects an undemocratic attitude and disregard for court directives.
He also criticized the Punjab Police for baton-charging peaceful protesters and arresting workers outside Adiala Jail. Jan emphasized that the KP government, led by the Chief Minister, has pursued all constitutional and democratic avenues to meet Imran Khan, unlike the federal and Punjab governments, which focus on political victimization rather than public issues.
