KP CM meets Senate committee delegation

A high-level delegation of the Senate Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination met with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi in Peshawar on Wednesday. According to a statement issued by CM Secretariat, the delegation discussed governance, economic cooperation, and inter-provincial coordination issues, with a focus on restrictions imposed by the Punjab government on wheat movement.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Article 151 of the Constitution protects the free flow of trade and commerce between provinces, and no provincial government has the authority to obstruct the transportation of essential commodities.
He stressed the need for mutual understanding and cooperation among provinces to find a lasting solution to the wheat supply issue. The delegation, led by Senators Dilawar Khan, Mohsin Aziz, and Naseema Ehsan, among others, was commended by the Chief Minister for their efforts to promote inter-provincial harmony and strengthen the federation through dialogue and coordination. The meeting highlighted the importance of prioritizing people’s livelihoods over political differences.
