Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui stresses importance of books

ISLAMABAD: Minister of Federal Education and Professional Training (FE&PT) Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Tuesday underscored the importance of books as a pathway to knowledge and long-term success. He made these remarks during address to three-day 11th National Book Festival, being held at Lok Virsa from November 25-27, where Farah Naz Akbar, Parliamentary Secretary, M/o FE&PT also participated. Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui urged the participants to read book abundantly, noting, “Books are your identity, your identity is your destiny.” “It is difficult to create identity without pen and book,” he added. He further said that being Muslim, the first commandment of our religion is IQRA, ( Read), adding, “Knowledge is the lost heritage of the believer.” He recalled that our country was came into being in the name of religion, focusing, “we need to spend our live in the light of teachings of religion.” “The greatest characteristic of knowledge is that the more one has, the less it seems,” he added.
