Iran: Trump has no mandate to dictate us on nuclear issue

TEHRAN
In a strongly worded address, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reiterated his country’s commitment to peace while firmly defending Iran’s nuclear rights. ,President Pezeshkian stated:“Iran wants peace in the region. We do not intend to attack any regional country. We seek stability and good neighborly relations with all nations in the Middle East.”
He directly addressed recent comments from U.S. President Donald Trump on Iran’s nuclear program, saying:“Trump has no mandate to dictate to us on nuclear issues. Iran has an inalienable right to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, as guaranteed under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Our program is transparent and entirely peaceful.”
Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran remains open to diplomacy but will not accept external pressure or ultimatums regarding its sovereign rights. He called on the international community to respect Iran’s legitimate security concerns and right to self-defense. The remarks come amid ongoing regional tensions and reported diplomatic exchanges involving the United States, Iran, and intermediaries. Iranian officials have repeatedly stressed that their nuclear activities are for energy and medical purposes only.
This latest statement from President Pezeshkian aligns with previous messages he has delivered to both domestic audiences and the American public, urging de-escalation and mutual respect.
