Imran Khan ‘directs Gandapur’ to act against those undermining PTI Unity: Saif

PESHAWAR
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif said on Monday that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur held a crucial meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan at Adiala Jail.
He shared that the meeting, which lasted for over two hours, focused on the security situation in the province, economic challenges, and internal party matters.
Addressing internal party issues, Imran Khan expressed concern over growing factionalism within PTI.
PTI founding chairman has directed Gandapur to take strict measures against individuals responsible for spreading divisions and making baseless or negative statements that damage party unity, Saif added.
According to Barrister Saif, Chief Minister Gandapur briefed Imran Khan in detail about the current law and order situation in KP and the steps taken by the provincial government to maintain peace and stability.
He said Imran Khan expressed full confidence in Gandapur’s leadership.
The meeting also covered the holding of tribal jirgas for peace and the province’s efforts to initiate dialogue with Afghanistan.
Imran Khan instructed the Chief Minister to ensure proper coordination and negotiations with the Afghan government to address cross-border concerns and regional security.
Barrister Saif further stated that the Chief Minister presented a detailed report on the province’s economic condition and the upcoming budget. Imran Khan expressed satisfaction with the steps taken so far and summoned KP Finance Advisor Muzammil Aslam for a comprehensive briefing on the province’s financial matters.
He also directed the finance advisor to approach the courts over the continued restrictions on meetings with him.
Performance of various departments and ministers was also reviewed during the meeting.
Imran Khan gave the Chief Minister full authority to take necessary actions to improve governance and service delivery.
He emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, and results.
The PTI founder also instructed CM Gandapur to intensify efforts for the party’s ongoing movement for the rule of law and what he termed “true freedom.” He urged the provincial government to take all necessary steps to support the cause.
“There is no place in the party for those who create discord,” Imran Khan reportedly said.
The Chief Minister was expected to file a petition in the Supreme Court again tomorrow regarding the ban on meetings with Imran Khan. “The people of KP have given their mandate to Imran Khan, and regular consultation with him is essential for the province’s governance,” Barrister Saif added
