Islamabad
The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized the award ceremony of the “IIUI Student Reel Contest 2025 – The Silent Hercules: Builders Behind the Scenes” at the university’s new campus under the chairmanship of President IIUI, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed.
The event was conceptualized and organized by the Protocol and Public Relations Department.
The contest was launched in line with the vision and directives of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed to highlight and celebrate the hard work of the university’s unsung heroes — the labourers and custodial staff whose efforts ensure smooth functioning behind the scenes.
A total of 14 shortlisted reels were evaluated in the final round, out of which three videos were awarded positions.
Shields and certificates were presented to the position holders as well as the employees featured in the reels.
The jury comprised senior journalist and content creator Fiaz Mahmood; Dr. Asma Mansoor, In-Charge Protocol and Public Relations; Dr. Qurat ul Ain Malik and Dr. Rooh ul Amin, Assistant Professors at the Department of Media and Communication Studies; Dr. Inaam ul Haq, Director Administration. The ceremony was also joined by Dr. Saleh Sulaiman A. Alghofaili, Advisor to the President IIUI.
Entries were evaluated based on creativity, storytelling, technical quality, and thematic relevance.
Syeda Zainab Tehseen and her team members including Robina Nadeem and Kiran Awan secured the first prize, followed by Muzzamil Hussain, Ali Asghar Hanjra and Muhammad Rehan who stood in second place and Saqib Alam and Muhammad Fawad Khan in third.
Addressing the ceremony, President IIUI appreciated the students’ enthusiasm and creativity and thanked the judges and participants. He also specially acknowledged Dr. Asma Mansoor, the chief organizer and In-Charge Protocol and PR, and her team members Muhammad Nauman Awan and Shahida Khanum for their meticulous efforts in organizing the event. He said that Allah has created taqwa as the true measure of superiority, adding that worldly ranks hold no value after death and that divine blessings are the ultimate success. Quoting Hadith, he noted that the poor will mostly enter heaven, stressing that teamwork matters more to him than designations. Sharing a personal reflection, he added that he enjoys gardening, which is close to his heart. He affirmed that he was there for all the employees of the university and that he would continue to support such activities that highlight the dignity of hardwork and labour.
