Govt to re-constitute committee on issue of missing persons: Law Minister

Missing persons issue is very old, cannot be resolved overnight: Tarar

Federal government has said missing persons matter is very old and it cannot be resolved overnight on court’s orders.
“Talks are underway between political and military circles. Government is taking this issue seriously. This matter is linked to terrorism. However committee has been constituted and investigations have been started. The country is put on the path to economic development. People have absolutely rejected PTI contradictory statements, this was said by law minister Azam Nazir Tarar and information minister Ata Tarar while addressing a joint press conference here Tuesday. .
Law minister Azam Nazir Tarar said talks are underway between political and military circles since some time on the issue of missing persons. Pakistan has played role of front line country in war affected area since four decades. This war has led to enhance enormously internal and external challenges of Pakistan. We have paid price for it.
First talk in this regard was held in PPP government and a commission was constituted on this matter, he pointed out. The representatives of Balochistan were also part of this commission.
10200 cases were presented before missing persons commission, he indicated.Some among them were resolved.
He pointed out a committee was set up during previous government. Certain things were yet to be resolved at the end of government term. Now committee is going to be established again on the issue of missing persons. Parliament will also be represented in the committee.
He remarked this issue cannot be solved overnight. Much work is needed to be done on it.
The process of involvement of government institutions in this matter cannot be ruled out categorically.
The major problem at this time is that the missing persons surface during the campaign against the terrorists, he said adding it is government endeavors that its legal and political solution be found. If some one is involved in a crime then investigations should be made as per law.
Nation has suffered heavily in war against terrorism. They have rendered sacrifices.
Information minister Atta Ullah Tarar has said there are reservations of family members of those who were martyred in terrorism related incidents. Emman Mazari declared one Naeem Rehmat missing person while he was in Landhi jail and was serving life time jail term in Landhi jail in a case.
He went on to say government has done much work on missing persons matter. we want to find out solution. This is job of administration.
He observed PML-N made clean sweep in by polls. Pakistani nation categorically rejected narrative of falsehood, hatred and chaos. These are transparent elections. Finger cannot be raised over them. These elections have eliminated suspicions on February 8 elections.
He observed people have voted to the politics of service in Punjab. The narrative of hatred has come to end. People have cast vote to PML-N for the sake of love for Nawaz Sharif.
Ridiculous allegations are being leveled with reference to health of Bushra Bibi, he underlined. Her all medical tests have come correct. She is healthy. Your lie is becoming exposed. Bid was made to harm foreign policy.
No one will be allowed to talk against army chief, he said in unequivocal term. The way the country is heading towards development, the man sitting in jail will become irrelevant.
He underscored Saudi Arabia is talking of investment. Iran is talking of taking trade volume to 10 billions. ;Pakistan strategic importance and investment in Pakistan are becing talked of at international level.
He hinted the economic indicators are telling country is heading towards development. They sold out the gifts of heads of friendly countries. But now Pakistan is destined to make development with decrease in inflation.
He held further strategy with reference to missing persons will be evolved on the basis of recommendations of cabinet committee.
Name were removed from ECL as per rules and regulations, he stated.
PTI has sworn that they have to talk against the national defence institutions, he added.
