Governor KP lauds role of private sector in promoting quality education

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday inaugurated The Millennium Universal College (TMUC) Abbottabad Campus, highlighting the critical role of quality education in national development and praising the private sector’s contribution to educational advancement in the province. Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony, Governor Kundi said, “High-quality education will place us among the developed nations,” adding that private institutions are helping shape a brighter future for the younger generation through world-class academic opportunities.
The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Masood Khan, Vice-Chancellor of Abbottabad University Dr. Tahir Irfan, TMUC Founder and CEO Dr. Faisal Mushtaq, former provincial minister Shuja Khanzada, Head of Programmes Saman Shameem, Dean Amna Saalik, students, parents, lawyers’ representatives and members of civil society.
Ambassador Masood Khan and Dr. Faisal Mushtaq briefed the Governor on TMUC’s nationwide educational initiatives and announced upcoming expansions, including a Roots school in Dera Ismail Khan and a new 100,000-square-foot TMUC campus in Peshawar. They appreciated the Governor’s support in promoting education, women’s empowerment, youth engagement, and soft diplomacy, describing him as a model Governor.
In his remarks, Governor Kundi called the Abbottabad campus a “gift” for the city and emphasized the growing significance of international education. “Students in Pakistan can now access global academic institutions while staying here — this institution will open the world’s doors to them,” he said. He urged students to remain rooted in their cultural values and become torchbearers of knowledge. “The youth must prepare to take charge of the country’s future,” the Governor stated, noting Abbottabad’s reputation as a center of learning and home to the prestigious Kakul Military Academy.
