Girls Inter-College Sports Gala kicks off in Peshawar with great enthusiasm

PESHAWAR
The Girls Inter-College Sports Gala commenced at Government City Girls Degree College Gulbahar, Peshawar, in a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. The opening ceremony was formally inaugurated by Assistant Professor and Chairman of the Sports Department at Government College Peshawar, Arshad Hussain, along with the Secretary General of the Provincial Throwball Association.
The event was attended by Director Sports of City Girls Degree College, Ms. Najma Naz Qazi, along with faculty members Ms. Afshan Gul, Ms. Saadia, and Ms. Sadaf Sher, among others. The ceremony reflected the spirit of sportsmanship and enthusiasm among the participating students.
Exciting Throwball and Table Tennis matches were held as part of the competition, featuring teams from several institutions, including City Girls College Gulbahar, Girls College Nahqi, Girls College Gulshan-e-Rahman Colony, Frontier Girls Degree College, Bacha Khan College, Dabagari College, Tajoobi B College Charsadda, Government Girls Degree College Umarzai Charsadda, Government Girls Degree College No.1 Charsadda, and Government Girls Degree College Dargai Charsadda.
Addressing the ceremony, Arshad Hussain emphasized the importance of promoting healthy activities like sports in educational institutions, saying that such events help students enhance their physical and mental capabilities. “Sports instill teamwork, confidence, and a foundation for a better future among the youth,” he said.
Meanwhile, Najma Naz Qazi and other faculty members praised the active participation of students, stating that such competitions not only contribute to the development of sports but also play a vital role in character building and physical fitness.
Throughout the gala, the students displayed remarkable enthusiasm and sportsmanship, with each team determined to give their best performance.
