Gandapur challenges ban on meeting with Imran in SC

ISLAMABAD
A constitutional petition challenging ban on meeting with PTI founder has been filed in Supreme Court (SC) by Chief Minister (CM) KP Ali Amin Gandapur.
The petition said weekly meeting with Imran Khan be arranged. Disallowing meeting with Imran Khan is violation of article 10.9 and 19 of the constitution.
The petitioner took the plea meeting with PTI founder is must for consultation in connection with budget.
The SC has been requested to get implement the court’s orders.
Through the petition SC has been requested that all the hindrances on the way to meeting be removed.
On Wednesday KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur appeared in SC and filed petition seeking permission for meeting with Imran Khan. However Justice Mansoor Ali Shah recused himself from hearing the petition.
On Wednesday morning Ali Amin Gandapur appeared in the court of Justice Mansoor Ali Shah at the time when hearing of the some other case was being held.
CM KP was accompanied by advocate Latif Khosa and Advocate General (AG) KP Shah Faisal.
KP CM came on rostrum and took the plea budget approval process is underway in KP assembly and our budget committee urgently needs to hold meeting with PTI founder so that important decisions could be made.
He said meeting is not being arranged with Imran Khan despite our repeated requests. Imran Khan had written a letter to SC and on it Chief Justice had given good remarks. But no implementation has been made so far.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah while recusing himself from hearing the case said this is not matter of judicial side and you have knocked at wrong door. It is better you should resort to registrar SC or Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi.
He further remarked CJP Yahya Afridi is chairman of Practice and Procedure committee too and that is proper forum for you. It will save your time.
Latif Khosa requested the court that it is an urgent matter. It is our request it should be heard immediately.
However Justice Mansoor Ali Shah made it clear we can not initiate court’s proceedings with reference to it. This petition be presented before CJP or registrar directly.
According to sources Ali Amin Gandapur went to registrar. Later he reached additional registrar office.
Registrar office received his petition saying they will place this petition before chairman practice and procedure committee, CJP.
