Funds generated from the gov’t austerity measures will be used for public relief

It has been decided in a meeting held under Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif the amount to be obtained from government austerity measures will be utilized for public relief in the prevailing situation.
The 4 days working in a week orders will not be applicable to law enforcement agencies and FBR. They will discharge their duty as per old routine .
The salaries of the cabinet members, ministers, advisors and special assistants will be used for public welfare as saving for the next two months.
50 percent cut will be made in the petrol which is provided for government vehicles of all government departments in the next two months..
It was decided that a third-party audit will be conducted regarding the fifty percent reduction in fuel allocation for official vehicles and the grounding of sixty percent of government vehicles over the next two months.
A review meeting on impact on prices of petroleum products in view of prevailing situation in the region and steps for implementation of government saving measures was held under the PM Shehbaz Sharif Saturday.
It was told in the meeting the amount to be obtained from government saving measures will be utilized for public relief. All the saving to be made from saving measures will be utilized for public welfare in the prevailing situation.
It was decided in the meeting 5 to 30 percent deduction will be made from the salaries of employees of all the institutions and autonomous bodies running under patronage of government which will be used for public welfare.
It was also decided that the government representatives who are included in the boards of corporations and other institutions will not receive fee for participation in board. This fee will be included in saving amount.
PM directed Pakistan embassies all over the world to celebrate March 23 with simplicity.
Meeting was briefed on complete ban on purchase of new vehicles and implementation of ban on all other government purchases.
PM said complete ban will remain in place on foreign visits of ministers, advisors and special assistants.
He said the secretaries concerned will implement and monitor all these austerity measures and submit a report to the review committee on a daily basis.
Meeting was attended by federal ministers Atta Ullah Tarar, Muhammad Aurangzeb., Ali Pervaiz Malik, state minister Bilal Azhar Kiani , chairman FBR and other senior officers.
