First Sikh leader elected to KP Assembly from Khyber

For the first time, a Sikh leader has been elected as a minority member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from the Khyber District.
This event marks a significant milestone for the region’s Sikh community.
Following the allocation of reserved seats in the provincial assembly, Baba Gurpal Singh, a prominent religious leader of the Sikh community, has been selected on the minority seat allocated to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F). He hails from the Malik Deen Khel tribe in Bara, Khyber District.
Baba Gurpal Singh’s election is being hailed as a major step toward greater minority representation and inclusion in the political landscape of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
