PESHAWAR
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) on Monday Maulana Fazalu Rehman emphasized the significance of aligning parliamentary legislation with the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah.
Maulana Fazal highlighted the party’s commitment during a reception celebrating the approval of the Madrasas Bill by JUI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to upholding constitutional and legal principles, particularly in defending the status of madrasas and the belief in the finality of Prophethood.
Addressing attendees, including notable scholars and political leaders, Maulana Fazalur Rehman stressed the role of the constitution in preventing the enactment of laws contrary to Islamic teachings.
He reiterated JUI’s dedication to safeguarding human and civil rights, maintaining that their struggle is rooted in constitutional and parliamentary frameworks.
Maulana Rehman also discussed the long-standing sectarian tensions in regions like Kurram, emphasizing that these conflicts are often misrepresented as religious disputes, thereby affecting broader regions like Karachi and Lucknow.
He concluded by asserting the collective agreement among various Islamic schools of thought on protecting the finality of Prophethood and related legislation.
