Dr. Ehsan Bhutta visits shrine of Hazrat Baba Farid, reviews development works and launches weekly dars series

“Ensuring exemplary facilities for devotees and the expeditious completion of development projects at shrines remains our foremost priority,” said Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta.
He made these remarks during his visit to the shrine of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganjshakar (RA), one of the most venerated Sufi saints of the subcontinent, whose enduring message of piety, humility, perseverance and universal love continues to inspire countless devotees.
Deputy Commissioner Pakpattan Asif Raza, ADC(G) Hafiz Muhammad Imran, Director Projects Rafiq Noor Wattoo, XEN C&W, Administrator Babar Sultan and other officials accompanied him.
During the visit, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta offered Fateha and special prayers for the peace, prosperity and stability of the country. He also convened meetings with shrine administration and Auqaf officials to comprehensively review administrative affairs and the progress of ongoing development initiatives.
Inspecting the shrine complex, he expressed satisfaction over the steady advancement of development schemes valued at approximately Rs. 760 million, noting that the projects are in their final stages and are expected to be completed within the next 10 to 12 days.
He directed that all remaining works be executed within stipulated timelines with uncompromising adherence to quality standards, and instructed that the newly installed elevator facility be made fully operational at the earliest to enhance accessibility for visitors.
Emphasizing improved public facilitation, he called for further enhancement of cleanliness, illumination, security arrangements and overall visitor services, ensuring that devotees are provided a comfortable and spiritually enriching environment.
Chairing a high-level meeting, he underscored the need for prompt resolution of pending administrative matters, strengthened inter-departmental coordination, and the maintenance of transparency, efficiency and accountability in all operations.
Dr. Ehsan Bhutta also inaugurated and attended the weekly Dars series at the shrine mosque, scheduled from Thursday to Sunday between Asar and Maghrib prayers.
The inaugural lecture was delivered by Zonal Khateeb Dr. Imran Nizami, who eloquently expounded on “The Importance of Prayer (Salat)” in the light of Sufi teachings and the poetic wisdom of Hazrat Baba Farid (RA), highlighting the essence of devotion, discipline and spiritual connection with the Almighty.
This initiative aims to revive and disseminate the profound teachings of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganjshakar (RA), fostering spiritual consciousness, ethical values and social harmony, while reinforcing the Auqaf Department’s commitment to preserving the rich Sufi heritage and serving the needs of the public with excellence.
