CS-KP, IGP join monsoon drive in Hazara division

In a significant move to promote environmental sustainability, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry and Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Khan visited the Commissioner House in Abbottabad on Friday.
The visit was hosted by Commissioner Hazara Division Syed Zaheer-ul-Islam, an official handout said.
As a part of the ongoing monsoon tree plantation drive in Hazara Division, Chief Secretary and IGP ceremoniously planted a pine tree. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing the region’s green cover and promoting environmental conservation.
“Forests are our valuable assets, and their protection and care is the responsibility of all of us,” remarked Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry.
He highlighted the significance of Hazara Division as a prime tourist destination, attracting countless visitors each year who come to enjoy its breathtaking landscapes.
“We must fulfill our duty to provide a pleasant environment for future generations by planting more trees, thereby contributing to the development of the country’s economy,” he added.
The ceremony concluded with Commissioner Hazara Division Syed Zaheer-ul-Islam presenting gifts to Chief Secretary and other guests.. The event was also attended by DIG Hazara Division Tahir Ayub Khan, Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Khalid Iqbal, DPO Abbottabad, Chief Conservator Forest, and other dignitaries.
This initiative is a part of the broader efforts to foster environmental stewardship and sustainable development in the region.
