CM-KP welcomes ceasefire in conflict-hit Kurram district
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced a 10-day ceasefire agreement between opposing groups in Kurram, describing it as a positive step toward achieving lasting peace in the conflict-hit district.
Briefing on the situation, the chief minister emphasized the importance of negotiations in resolving disputes and ensuring sustainable peace in the area. He revealed that efforts are underway to estimate the losses incurred during the unrest and formulate a comprehensive security plan for safe transportation in the region.
The recent violence in Kurram saw devastating clashes, with a total of 102 fatalities and 138 injuries reported, primarily due to attacks on passenger vehicle convoys and tribal conflicts.
