CM Gandapur welcomes Chinese investment in KP

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur met with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Jiang Zedong, at Rashakai Special Economic Zone, said a handout.
According to the statement issued here, the two leaders emphasized creating new business opportunities and fostering cooperation in various sectors between China and KP.
The meeting covered key areas including mines and minerals, agriculture, and value addition. Both sides agreed to promote joint projects that leverage KP’s local resources for industrial development. Ambassador Jiang Zedong reaffirmed China’s strong commitment to the success of Rashakai Economic Zone, recognizing it as a symbol of China-Pakistan economic cooperation.
The Ambassador also expressed keen interest in hydropower and renewable energy projects, particularly in the transmission sector, to ensure affordable power for industries in KP.
Furthermore, he conveyed China’s willingness to invest in KP’s mineral sector, especially in granite, marble, and metal minerals. The Chief Minister welcomed China’s investment in the province and emphasized the importance of value addition projects to maximize economic benefits and create local employment opportunities.
The two dignitaries agreed to broaden cooperation beyond traditional sectors, with a special focus on health and information technology.
The Chinese Ambassador praised the KP government’s economic vision, acknowledging its record-breaking revenue generation and citizen-centric development initiatives. Chief Minister Gandapur reiterated his government’s commitment to economic growth, industrialization, and job creation, emphasizing that strategic collaboration with China would further accelerate the province’s economic transformation. He noted that projects like Rashakai SEZ serve as catalysts for job creation and foreign investment, ultimately enhancing the socio-economic landscape of the province.
Ambassador Jiang reaffirmed that China remains a reliable development partner, committed to strengthening trade, investment, and industrial relations with KP.
He lauded the provincial government’s pro-business policies and expressed confidence that joint initiatives would unlock new economic opportunities and further cement the long-standing Pak-China friendship.
Both sides also recognized the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a transformative initiative that enhances infrastructure, industrial connectivity, and economic integration.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by KPBoIT Vice Chairman Hassan, Secretary Industries, Commerce, and Technical Education Aamir Afaq, and CEO KPEZDMC Adil Salahuddin, along with senior officers from the local administration, SSU, and SSD.
The officials teremed the high-level engagement a significant step in transforming KP into an economic hub, fostering new opportunities, increasing industrial production, and promoting sustainable development through robust Pak-China cooperation.
