Asif Mahmood Remembered at Inaugural Junior Cricket Tournament in Karachi

The Regional Cricket Association Karachi Zone One (RCAK Zone One)launched the Asif Mahmood Memorial Junior Inter-Club Cricket Tournament,honoring the late cricketer’s contributions to local cricket. Azam Khan, RCAK Coordinator, praised Asif Mahmood and his family for their “unforgettable” services to Zone One cricket during the opening ceremony at Young Fighter
Ground.RCA Karachi Joint Secretary Muhammad Tauseef Siddiqui and Zone One Secretary Arif Waheed Khan paid tribute to Asif Mahmood, highlighting his work with Liaquatabad Eaglets and Al-Mansoora Ground. Asif Mahmood’s brother,Former first-class cricketer and coach Tahir Mahmood, and his son-in-law,
PCB trainer Taimur Mahmood, expressed gratitude to the organizers for honoring his memory. Zone VI President Zia Ahmed Siddiqui pledged his support for the tournament.
On this Occasion Director Media Dr. Arif Hafeez,
RCAK Tournament Committee Chairman Khalid Nafees, RCAK Assistant Secretary Muhammad Ahmad Naqvi, Treasure Zone One Tariq Hafeez Siddiqui, Sher Ali Raju and others were also present.
Later,Tahir Mahmood inaugurated the tournament by hitting the ball. In the opening match, Muhammad Hussain Gymkhana defeated Markhor Cricket Club by 104 runs. Muhammad Arsalan’s 109 led
Gymkhana to 247/6, while Markhor was bowled out for 143. The match featured notable performances from Muhammad Yousuf Khan, Zubair
Khan, Haris Quddus, and Uzair Ali.
