Ambassador to ISC Misbah Khar, meets British High Commission Delegation

Ambassador to the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC) and Adviser to the Chairman Senate, Ms. Misbah Khar, accompanied by Mr. Tariq bin Waheed, Senior Director-General (SDG) Protocol, met with the Delegation of the British High Commission today at Parliament House, Islamabad.
The meeting was convened to brief the Delegation on the forthcoming ISC Conference, scheduled for 11–12 November 2025 in Islamabad, and to extend a formal invitation to British parliamentary leaders to participate. Ms. Khar also informed the Delegation about the Curtain Raiser event to be held on 8 September 2025, marking the official commencement of activities leading up to the Conference.
In her remarks, Ms. Misbah Khar outlined the key objectives of the ISC, underscoring its role in strengthening multilateral cooperation, fostering constructive dialogue among regional partners, and mobilizing parliamentary engagement on urgent global challenges, including the Palestine conflict and climate change.
She stressed that by convening influential political leaders, the ISC aims to reshape policy priorities and build consensus on issues critical to global peace, stability, and sustainable development.
The British High Commission Delegation reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s deep-rooted and respectful ties with Pakistan, highlighting the longstanding tradition of bilateral cooperation.
The Delegation welcomed the ISC initiative, acknowledging its significance as a timely platform to strengthen Pakistan–UK relations while contributing meaningfully to the broader international discourse on security, peace, and climate resilience.
Both sides expressed their commitment to continued collaboration across diplomatic, parliamentary, and security domains. The Delegation conveyed its appreciation for the briefing and invitation, reaffirming the UK’s interest in active participation in such strategic engagements.
