Al-Qadir Trust Case allegations unfounded: Saif

Advisor to the Chief Minister on information Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has said that neither the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan nor his spouse Bushra Bibi personally benefited from the funds transferred to Pakistan from abroad, describing the Al-Qadir Trust case allegations as unfounded.
In a press statement issued here on Monday, Barrister Saif maintained that the funds involved were transferred to Pakistan from abroad and were not linked to the personal accounts of PTI’s founder or Bushra Bibi.
He claimed that the prosecution did not prove any wrongdoing against PTI founder Imran Khan and his spouse and there was no proof that postulated and connected them with any financial gain in the matter.
Saif further explained that corruption occurs when money is transferred abroad illegally, contrasting the situation with the practices of the Sharif and Zardari families.
He stressed that, unlike them, the founder of PTI did not transfer money abroad and never utilized funds for his personal gains.
Defending the £190 million case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Saif expressed confidence that, like other baseless politically motivated cases, this matter would also reach a fair and logical conclusion.
It is pertinent to mention here that the accountability court is scheduled to pronounce the verdict in the £190 million case against former premier Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi today (Monday).
