PMML to distribute sacrificial meat to 2.2 million families during Eid-ul-Azha

LAHORE
Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) has announced a nationwide “Qurbani Sab Kay Liye” (Sacrifice for Everyone) campaign for Eid-ul-Azha, under which sacrificial meat will be distributed to more than 2.2 million families across 100 districts of the country.
The announcement was made by Chairman of the party’s Khidmat-e-Khalq Department Chaudhry Shafeeq ur Rehman Waraich while addressing a press conference in Lahore. Deputy Secretary General Khalid Naik Gujjar and Lahore President Adil Khaleeq, General Secretary Chaudhry Hameed ul Hassan Gujjar were also present on the occasion.
Speaking to reporters, Chaudhry Shafeeq ur Rehman Waraich said rising inflation, unemployment and economic pressure had created serious difficulties for low-income and middle-class families. He said the campaign aimed to ensure that deserving families could also share in the joys of Eid ul Azha.
He said a nationwide survey had already been completed to identify deserving households so that sacrificial meat could be delivered respectfully and efficiently to those most in need.
He further said that on the second day of Eid ul Azha, large public meal arrangements would be organised at public places and outside hospitals, where thousands of people would be served cooked food. Special teams had also been formed to deliver meals to prisons, police stations and special persons so that no one would be deprived of Eid celebrations, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Hameed ul Hassan Gujjar said that in Lahore alone, sacrificial meat would be distributed to around 200,000 families on the first day of Eid.
Party leaders said public welfare and social service remained central to the party’s agenda and that efforts were being made to support vulnerable sections of society through practical relief initiatives.
