WSSCs in KP call for sector reforms at high-level meeting held at P&D

A high-level meeting was convened at the WASH NETWORK of Planning & Development Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, chaired by Additional Secretary P&D, Mr. Muhammad Taufique. The session was jointly organized by UNICEF, WASHNet, and the Planning & Development Department.
The meeting was attended by Mr Hamza Abbas (IDS) UNICEF representatives along with Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of all Water and Sanitation Services Companies (WSSCs) across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Madam Tahira from the Local Government Department also participated.
The thematic focus of the meeting was: “WSSCs Best Practices and Way Forward for Essential Sector Reforms”
During the session, WSSCs showcased their best practices, innovative approaches, and operational achievements in enhancing water and sanitation service delivery. Participants also engaged in a detailed discussion on the policy and institutional reforms required to further strengthen the WASH sector in KP.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Miss Nosheen Malik, WASHNet Coordinator, presented a unified resolution on behalf of all WSSCs. The resolution called for comprehensive sector reforms.
