Delegation of 55th Pakistan Navy Staff Course Visits Parliament House

ISLAMABAD
A 114-member delegation of the 55th Pakistan Navy Staff Course, currently undertaking an inland study tour, visited the Parliament House today. Senior officials from the Senate Secretariat warmly received the delegation upon arrival.
During the visit, Secretary Senate, Syed Hasnain Haider, briefed the delegation on the role, functions, structure, and working procedures of the Senate of Pakistan. He underscored that the Senate, as the Upper House of the bicameral Parliament, represents the federating units on the basis of equality and plays a vital role in promoting national harmony and protecting the interests of smaller provinces.
Elaborating on the Senate’s core functions, the Secretary emphasized its crucial role in legislation, oversight, accountability, and representation, which together form the foundation of Pakistan’s parliamentary democracy.
The delegation took keen interest in the briefing and actively participated in a question-and-answer session, during which the Secretary Senate provided comprehensive responses to their queries.
The visit concluded with the delegation expressing appreciation for the Senate Secretariat’s role in promoting democratic governance and fostering transparency within Pakistan’s institutional framework.
