Democracy is voice of people, power of nation: Bilawal

ISLAMABAD
PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said democracy is voice of people and power of nation.
He said this in his message on the occasion of International day of democracy here Monday. He held democracy is soul of our national identity and base of development. This includes citizens in political process. It is guarantor for protection of equal rights for all.
Pakistan democratic journey is replete with sacrifices of myriads of martyrs. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto figure high among them. Both the leaders sacrificed their lives for protection of right to rule of people.
He held protection of democracy is a sacred obligation . Any compromise on it is in fact compromise on future. Pakistani youths should remain alert to face any threat against the democratic norms and play their role in building a comprehensive and prosperous Pakistan.
He underlined the sacrifices rendered by our democratic heroes will never go waste. Their courage and heritage remind us that real power of Pakistan lies in the power of people.
