KP fights terrorism, deserves support not blame: Saif

PESHAWAR
Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif, has expressed deep concern over the statements and allegations made by federal ministers against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, terming them unfortunate and regrettable.
Barrister Dr. Saif stated that the provincial government has been fighting on the front line against terrorism, and the province’s police have been laying down their lives in this war. He added that the irresponsible remarks of federal ministers are tantamount to insulting the sacrifices of the KP Police martyrs.
He pointed out that by fighting on the front lines, KP has protected the rest of the country from the scourge of terrorism. Instead of leveling accusations, the federal government should strengthen the province in its battle against terrorism.
“Terrorists are no one’s relatives; if this fire spreads beyond KP, the entire country will be engulfed,” he warned. He criticized the federal ministers, saying they rush towards their foreign-built palaces even at the sound of a single firecracker.
Barrister Dr. Saif further urged the federal government to demonstrate seriousness in the fight against terrorism and to refrain from issuing irresponsible statements. If the federal government is truly sincere in eliminating terrorism, he emphasized, it must not ignore Afghanistan.
He noted that Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur is taking serious and practical steps for law and order in the province, including convening tribal jirgas. These jirgas, he added, have also maintained that dialogue with Afghanistan could prove fruitful in establishing lasting peace.
