Bilawal condemns police action on PPP rally in Peshawar

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has strongly condemned the police action against PPP workers during a rally in Peshawar held under the banner of the “Save the Province Movement.”
In a statement issued from the party provincial secretariat here on Monday, he termed the incident a failed attempt by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government to suppress peaceful dissent and hide what he described as “rampant corruption.”
Chairman Bilawal denounced the use of tear gas and force against unarmed political workers who were protesting peacefully against rising lawlessness, unemployment, and governance failures in the province.
“The shelling of tear gas on peaceful political workers is regrettable,” he said. “The provincial government has made a cowardly attempt to silence democratic voices rather than face accountability for its corruption.”
He further stated that such tactics will not deter the PPP. “We are not afraid of low tactics. We will continue to expose and confront the corrupt and incompetent provincial government of KP,” Bilawal declared.
Accusing the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of fascism, he added: “The PTI government has shown its true cowardly face by torturing unarmed political workers. Today, the people of KP have seen the real face of this fascist regime.”
Bilawal affirmed that the Save the Province Movement has now become the collective voice of the people of KP.
“Our workers are ready to face batons and sticks. We will not back down from our struggle for justice and accountability,” he said.
The PPP Chairman reiterated his commitment to democratic resistance, vowing that his party would continue its campaign to rid the province of what he called “inept and corrupt leadership.”
