Saif criticises govt’s refusal to form judicial commission

PESHAWAR
Advisor to the Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif has condemned the federal government’s refusal to form a Judicial Commission to probe the May 9 and November 26 incidents, calling it evidence of its unconstitutional and illegitimate nature.
In a statement, Mr Saif accused the federal government of introducing new laws aimed at undermining the judiciary, media, and opposition, claiming that Parliament has been reduced to a mere “rubber stamp.”
He warned that the government’s actions would ultimately harm the media, which it is attempting to control. He also criticized Speaker Ayaz Sadiq for his undemocratic stance, suggesting that his actions were a disgrace.
He further stated that the government’s avoidance of negotiations would push the opposition to take to the streets. Additionally, Saif accused Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of building a political front against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government by offering refuge to the “incompetent” Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Islamabad.
