Mohammad Amir revealed that retirement from international cricket was a difficult decision but one he felt was necessary. He highlighted his belief that it’s time for Pakistan’s younger generation to step forward and take the team to greater heights. “After careful consideration, I have taken the difficult decision to retire from international cricket. These decisions are never easy but are inevitable,” Amir wrote. “I feel this is the right time for the next generation to take the baton and elevate Pakistan cricket to new heights.”
Amir described representing Pakistan as the greatest honor of his life. He expressed heartfelt thanks to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), his family, and fans, acknowledging their role in his journey.
