The government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday declared the spending of the caretaker government as unconstitutional and illegal and has demanded a NAB inquiry including the formation of a special committee of the House to investigate it.
The proceeding in the chair of Speaker Babar Salim Swat, Sunni Ittihad Council MPA Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani said that we are passing illegal budget of the caretaker government. He said that the caretaker government was selected for three months but spent one year and changed two chief ministers during this period. Under which law did the caretaker government used the development budget, said Mushtaq Ghani.
He said that the budget will be sent to NAB and PAC for audit. Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani said that the PTI-backed leadership were sent to jail and are facing courts which is injustice. He recalled that Health Card, BRT, Swat Expressway, Billion Tree Projects and Shelter Homes were the big achievements of their government. While taking the oath, Fazle Hakim Khan of SIC said that they were ready of all kinds of audit. Tufail Anjum of SIC said that extortion was common before 2013.
It has been our policy that no compromise will be made on corruption, adding if anyone has any proof so it should be common and a high-level committee, a special committee of the House and a commission should be formed to investigate it.
Laiq Muhammad Khan of SIC criticized the caretaker government and said that the caretaker government committed corruption of 11 billion rupees, unconstitutional ministers recruited 4500 people, bribes were taken from 3000 servants, government officers took 11 percent of the money and released the fund.
I will prove that corruption of 11 billion rupees has taken place, he said. Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdul Karim said that we do not get our right to tobacco, hydropower, oil and gas from the central government.
Housing Minister Dr. Amjad said that the budget will be passed for the sake of the people of the province, but everyone has seen what the PDM caretaker government has done with the province during nine months.
Speaker Babakr Salim Swat said that according to Assembly Rules 136, no committee can be formed on the budget, nor can it be sent to a special committee. Later, Speaker Babar Salim Swati adjourned the assembly proceeding till Tuesday 2:00pm.
