Pakistan Para Table Tennis Camp Concludes Ahead of Asian Para Games

PESHAWAR
The national training camp of the Pakistan Para Table Tennis Team has concluded ahead of the country’s participation in the 5th Asian Para Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, scheduled to be held in Japan from October 18 to 24.
The camp focused on technical development, match preparation, physical conditioning and competition readiness of Pakistan’s selected para table tennis athletes.
The nominated athletes include Abdullah Jan, Tajmeena Bibi, Muhammad Ibrahim and Shama Khan. Abdullah Jan will compete in the TT8 standing category, while Tajmeena Bibi will participate in the TT5 wheelchair category. The nominations of the remaining athletes are still in process.
The camp was conducted under the supervision of the Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) and National Paralympic Committee (NPC), in collaboration with the Directorate General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Absar Welfare Foundation.
Deputy President PTTF and Chairman National Para Table Tennis Kifayat Ullah Khan appreciated the athletes, coaches and supporting organisations for their efforts. He said it was a matter of pride that athletes from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would represent Pakistan at the Asian Para Games.
National Para Table Tennis Coach Mian Absar Ali expressed optimism about Pakistan’s medal prospects, saying the athletes had been training consistently for the past two to three years. He said the national camp further strengthened their technical and competition preparation.
“We are very hopeful of winning a medal for Pakistan this time,” Mian Absar Ali said, adding that the team would give its best performance in Japan.
During the camp, an internationally experienced para-sport classification manager from England also conducted an informative session for the athletes. He briefed the players about classification procedures, requirements and anti-doping regulations applicable to major international competitions.
