SHC constitutional bench directs Nazir high court to conduct inspection , present report

Sindh High Court Constitutional Bench has directed Nazir Sindh High Court (SHC) to conduct a surprise raid and inspection on a local Non Governmental Organization accused of illegal steps, corruption , human rights violations and child labor besides presenting comprehensive report.
The court directed the Nazir to inspect the institution and probe into the alleged excesses by caretaker with the residents, violations of rules and regulations and affairs of the institution and compile a comprehensive report.
The court ordered him to take live photographs during the inspection.
The court maintained in its order the residents of the institution be not harassed by the respondents.
The court ordered Nazir should present report within two weeks.
During the hearing of the case, Additional Advocate General (AAG) Sindh Zohaib Zulfiqar along with Noman Iqbal deputy director social welfare department appeared in the court.
The petitioners took the plea they are beneficiaries and legal residents of colony. Social welfare department provides welfare services under the supervision of government Sindh.
Through the petition request has been made for independent and comprehensive investigation into the matters of the institution, halting forced child labor immediately , holding transparent elections by dissolving the alleged illegal governing board , ensuring provision of proper food, clean drinking water and timely medicines to special children besides holding third party forensic audit of accounts of the institution.
According to petitioners they informed the respective respondents about alleged maladministration, corruption and human rights violations through a legal notice on September 3, 2025. However the court was approached for not taking any action by the respondents.
The court had sought comments from the respondents about the situation of the institution and the allegations leveled against it through an order on May 6, 2026.
The court maintained reviewing the matters of the institution on the spot due to the allegations is proper. Therefore, Nazir is appointed to visit the institution and present comprehensive report with reference to alleged excesses and violations besides ensuring that the rules and regulations related to the institution whose compliance is must are being implemented.
The court fixed the hearing of the case after two weeks.
