Shafi Jan pays tribute to martyred cop

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan on Thursday attended the funeral prayer of police constable Muhammad Afaq at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines and paid tribute to his sacrifice.
Constable Afaq was martyred in an armed encounter with suspected militants in Peshawar while performing his duty.
The minister laid a floral wreath on the martyr’s body and offered condolences to his family. He said the sacrifices of KP police personnel in the fight against terrorism were unforgettable and that the entire nation honoured their services.
Mr Jan said the sacrifices of police martyrs would not go in vain and vowed that efforts to eliminate terrorism would continue.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Home Affairs Tariq Saeed Marwat, MNA Sher Ali Arbab, the inspector general of police and other senior officials also attended the funeral.
