KP CM condemns Kohat police lines blast, seeks report

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Friday took notice of a blast at the Old Police Lines in Kohat and strongly condemned the incident, describing it as a “cowardly and unacceptable” act of terrorism.
The chief minister sought a report from the police authorities and directed them to ensure that all available resources were utilised for the immediate treatment of those injured in the blast.
He instructed the health authorities to ensure timely treatment of the injured and availability of all necessary medical facilities at hospitals. He also directed that arrangements be made to shift critically injured patients to other hospitals, if required.
Afridi expressed grief over the targeting of innocent citizens and directed the authorities to examine all aspects of the incident and submit a detailed report. He said such cowardly acts of terrorism could not demoralise the nation and reiterated that the perpetrators would be dealt with according to law.
