SCCI chief highlights importance of listing businesses with PSX
Fazal Moqeem suggests setting up a desk to facilitate businesspeople about the listing process, rules and regulations

President of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Fazal Moqeem Khan highlighted the importance of listing businesses with the Pakistan Stock Exchange and called for conducting frequent sessions for guidance of businesspersons about listing process, rules and regulations. SCCI chief urges the government and PSX to set up an exclusive desk for the facilitation of the chamber’s members to create awareness among the chamber’s members about listing with the stock exchange.
Fazal Moqeem Khan was speaking to participants and members while chairing an awareness session: “Listing in PSX and Exploring Capital Market, organized by the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) here on Wednesday.
The session aimed to shed light on the significance of stock exchange listings for businesses.
A detailed presentation was given by representatives of PSX whereby the participants, many of whom were owners of family businesses, were apprised about the benefits of raising capital for expansion and growth of their company in today’s competitive environment through the Stock Exchange.
Apart from senior vice president Abdul Jalil Jan, vice president Shehryar Khan, a member of the SCCI’s executive committee Aftab Iqbal, WCCIP Vice president Zubia Amir, members, Haji Ihsanullah, Rashid Iqbal Siddiqui, Saddar Gul, Faiz Rasool, Fazle Wahid, traders, importers and exporter, women businesspeople were present in a large number on the occasion.
The session was also attended by Regional Manager of the PSX M. Shoaib, AM Saqib Ali, Zainul Abidin Syed, senior officials from KPEZDMC Nauman Nadeem and M. Rafiq.
Fazal Moqeem Khan stated that listing on the PSX can strengthen a company’s financial credibility by adhering to regulatory compliances.
“A listing not only attracts investors but also enhances a company’s reputation in both local and global markets,” he said.
He also said the listing of businesses in an equity market will attract more educated and young investors towards trading in shares.
Ahmad Abbas, Chief Listings Officer, Pakistan Stock Exchange during the session elaborated on PSX’s initiatives to educate the masses about the benefits of stock exchange listings and streamline the enlistment process.
He emphasized the role of listed companies in diversifying experiences and providing valuable advice to shareholders.
Abbas also highlighted the expedited enlistment process, which facilitates local companies in gaining international recognition and enhancing their profiles.
Senior officials urged KP businesses and investors to get listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) to raise equity for business expansion in domestic and international markets, enhance the market capitalisation of the companies, and increase the visibility of the brands across the country.
