PESHAWAR
Advisor to the Chief Minister on Finance and Inter-Provincial Coordination Muzammil Aslam on Tuesday dismissed recent media reports regarding the province’s budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, terming them baseless and speculative.
In a statement issued from his office, Muzammil Aslam clarified that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department has not yet released any official statistics or figures related to the upcoming budget.
He emphasized that the budget formulation process is still underway, and it is premature to make any announcements at this stage.
He further stated that initial statistics and projections for the new budget will begin to emerge in May. Aslam expressed confidence that, like the ongoing fiscal year 2024-25, the upcoming budget will also be surplus, reflecting sound financial planning.
Highlighting the government’s priorities, the advisor said the 2025-26 budget will be public-friendly, development-oriented, and historic in scope. He assured that efforts are being made to ensure transparency and inclusivity in the budget preparation process.
