Patients and staff celebrate Independence Day with flag hoisting at Shifa International Hospital

Islamabad: The nation’s 78th independence day was celebrated with patriotic fervor by a huge number of employees and the patients at Shifa International Hospital today.
Waqar Ud Din Syed, Director General of the National Cyber Crime Agency, graced the occasion as chief guest. He commended the dedication and efforts of the Team Shifa for providing modern, quality healthcare to the patients. Underlining the important role of authentic information in healthcare, the chief guest also highlighted the significance of cyber resilience and national security in today’s digital age for a nation. He warned against the dangers of misinformation and fake news, urging the audience to verify facts before sharing content online. “Just as our forefathers fought for Pakistan’s freedom, it is our duty now to protect our digital sovereignty from those who spread chaos through fake news,” he added.
Chief Executive Officer of Shifa International Hospitals, Dr. Zeeshan Bin Ishtiaque underscored the significance of this year’s celebration, saying, “Shifa’s healthcare heroes have always stood ready to serve the nation in peace, in crises, and emergencies. This year, the importance of raising our flag feels even greater as we remember the courage and unity displayed during Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan al-Marsus, which reaffirmed that Pakistan is, and will always remain, undefeatable.”
The ceremony concluded with patriotic slogans and a renewed pledge from Shifa International Hospital employees to uphold its mission of delivering best possible healthcare with compassion, integrity, and a deep sense of national responsibility.
