Pakistan Global Taekwondo Team bids farewell with enthusiasm ahead of World Championship in Dubai

PESHAWAR
The Pakistan Global Taekwondo Team is all set to depart for Dubai on July 21 to participate in the World Global Taekwondo Championship, which kicks off on July 22.
The international event will feature male and female athletes from around the globe. With final preparations completed, the national team is brimming with confidence, commitment, and determination to represent Pakistan on the global stage.
To honor the athletes, the Pakistan Global Taekwondo Federation organized a dignified farewell ceremony in Peshawar. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
During the ceremony, team members were presented with official kits and complete travel bags for the championship. The occasion was further elevated by the presence of parents, coaches, and prominent figures from the sports community, who gathered to encourage and support the athletes.
Speaking at the ceremony, Masood Afridi, Secretary General of the Pakistan Global Taekwondo Federation, expressed pride over Pakistan’s participation in the international event.
It is a matter of great honor for us that our athletes are once again heading to raise Pakistan’s flag on the world stage,” he said.
“We have trained our team on modern lines, and we are confident they will leave a lasting impression with their performance. We are also grateful to our sponsors whose support made this journey possible.
Gul Afridi, Secretary of the Provincial Global Taekwondo Association, echoed these sentiments:
Athletes are ambassadors of any nation, and we are committed to supporting them at every level. Our team is not only physically fit but also mentally prepared for this international challenge. We pray they return home with success and pride.”

The presence of parents added an emotional and inspiring touch to the event. Many of them expressed their pride and extended prayers for their children’s success.
The event concluded with a collective prayer for the team’s victory and a group photo session with the national flag — symbolizing unity, determination, and hope as the team prepares to embark on its international mission.
