Opp has ended negotiations practically: Irfan Siddiqui

ISLAMABAD
Spokesperson of government negotiation committee Irfan Siddiqui has said opposition has ended negotiations practically.
“Govt negotiation committee is still in place and we will wait till January 31, he said this while talking to media men here Tuesday.
“ PTI has practically terminated the talks. We exercised restraint. Details consultation was made on PTI demands, he held
He went on to say PTI in fact did not want to move forward in the negotiations. And it itself wanted to call off talks. They constituted committee on December 5 . Then 3 meetings took place in succession. They had presented their demands after 42 days. We had sought 7 days to deliberate over these demands. We carried out comprehensive work. We sought opinion from neutral legal experts. We endeavored to make their demands practicable maximum. We focused our attention on them.
We have decided not to release details of our reply because it was matter of committee with committee. Had they come we would have put our reply before them. They would have read it and reviewed it. We would have scheduled a meeting on their demands that things proceed ahead or otherwise. Because their December 31 deadline persists.
As PTI has not come, therefore, the talks have ended practically. Our committee is still in place. We have not dissolved it. This committee will stay till January 31.
If PTI contacts government before it then our committee will sit with them before January 31. If they want to continue this process after January 31, we will continue it, he underlined.
