LHC orders private company to pay Rs 75 lac to widows of employee of private company

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered private company to pay Rs 75 lac to widows of citizen Asif Javed who had committed self-immolation. This amount will be paid to widows of Asif Javed in return for his 11 years salary. Salary of Asif Javed against 11 years stood at about 35 lac. The court had directed private company to help financially family members of Asif Javed open heartedly. Justice Khalid Ishaq took up the case for hearing Monday. Asif Javed was sacked by private company in 2016. The labor court nullified the decision regarding termination of the applicant from the service and ordered to reinstate in the job in 2019. Private company challenged labor court decision in National Industrial Relation Commission (NIRC). The appeal of private company was dismissed by NIRC on November 23, 2020. The private company filed the case in high court in 2020. The case of Asif Javed was pending hearing in LHC since 2020.
